Serving in Our community
Eastside thinks about our community as our mission field. With Jefferson Elementary right across the road, Eastside looks for ways to minister to those who travel in and out of the school doors. We do so by: 1) ministering to the Teachers, Staff, and Administrators at various times during the year. 2) Inviting families from Jefferson Eastside for special events such as our Fall Festival and Easter Activities. And 3) praying!
Eastside also seek to be active participating with local mission opportunities offered by The Greater Cleveland County Baptist Association such as the Christmas Toy Store and Meals of Hope. It would be impossible to identify all the ways Eastside seeks to serve our community, because this is an ongoing, fluid ministry of our Church Family.
The primary ways to be involve serving the community through Eastside is to listen for announcements that publicize opportunities, identify opportunities and be willing to help lead and coordinate service activities, and pray for the community in which you live as well as those who live in the shadow of our steeple.
In recent years I (Pastor Dale) have been using a Prayer Prompt called Bless Every Home to pray for my community where I live as well as the community that lives in the shadow of our church steeple. I would love for you to join me in using this prayer prompt.
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in darkness but have the light of life.”
Becoming a Light using Bless Every Home is free and confidential. You’ll receive a map and list of your closest neighbors, along with emails at the frequency of your choice to pray for your next five neighbors that day. When you get a chance, walk or drive by those homes as you pray for them.
